September is Attendance Awareness Month!

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and research shows that good attendance is directly related to higher achievement in school.  Building the habit of good school attendance early is key,  and we need your help!  At the end of each month our Attendance Office sends home truancy letters to families of students who have 3 unexcused absences/tardies.  If you receive one of these letters, please contact our Attendance Office and speak with our Attendance Health Secretary Emma Williams.  Some of these absences and tardies may be excused per Board Policy.  If your child has been on an Independent Study Contract, remember that they cannot receive credit unless the work assigned by the teacher is completed and submitted upon return.

Congratulations to the following classes in each grade level who had the BEST RATE OF ATTENDANCE FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST:

  • Kindergarten:  Mrs. Farrar/Mrs. Praggastis
  • 1st Grade:  Mrs. Moller
  • 2nd Grade:  Mr. Zendejas
  • 3rd Grade:  Mr. Maes
  • 4th Grade:  Mrs. Marquez
  • 5th Grade:  Mrs. Muhlbach
  • 6th Grade:  Mrs. Martinez

Students who have Perfect Attendance for the first quarter will be honored at the Awards Assembly.
